Atanas Slavov was born in Sliven. He is known for his virtuoso performances on the gadulka and the violin. Awarded with diplomas, with silver and gold medals from District and Republican forums, such as “Orfeevo Izvorche”, Koprivshtitsa, Galabovo, etc. As part of the “Trakiyche” Ensemble, he recorded on the National Radio and Television.
He graduated from the “Filip Kutev” secondary music school in Kotel, where he studied gadulka. He graduated from the “Music Pedagogy” at the “Episkop Konstantin Preslavski” University of Shumen. He received the First Prize in the University Competition – “Folklore” category for author’s works. In 2006 graduated with a master’s degree in “Instrumental Art” with gadulka from Prof. Todor Kirov at AMTII Plovdiv. In 2015, he specialized in classical violin with Prof. Spirov.
At the end of the 1990s, he created the “Orient Express” orchestra, with which he recorded some of the most famous pop-folk hits: “Slanchitse moe” and “Tez ochi zeleni”. These two hits became very popular and the orchestra was chosen as the Orchestra of the year (1999). This leads the orchestra to Hall 1 of the National Palace of Culture (2000).
In 2003 Atanas Slavov was invited as a soloist of Ensemble “Bulgare”, in which he still plays today. In 2005 formed the “Express Band” orchestra, had joint concerts with Desislava in Soho-London, with Ivana in the Arena “Armeets” Hall, a warm-up band for Shaban Šaolic and Miroslav Ilić. In addition to playing, he is also engaged in recording and teaching activities.
